Co-operative Academy of Professional Education

The Co-operative Academy of Professional Education (CAPE) was established by the Government of Kerala to deliver world-class technical and professional education across the state. The Co-operative Academy of Professional Education (CAPE) is an autonomous society established under the Co-operation Department of the Government of Kerala. The Society is registered under the Travancore-Cochin Literary, Scientific and Charitable Societies Act, 1955, based on its Government-approved Memorandum of Association and Rules. The journey began in 1999–2000 with the establishment of our first institution, College of Engineering Vadakara (formerly Co-operative Institute of Technology Vadakara). In 2000–2001, five additional engineering colleges and a medical college were established, including College of Engineering Perumon, College of Engineering Trikaripur, College of Engineering Thalassery, College of Engineering Kidangoor, and Cochin Medical College (formerly Co-operative Medical College Kochi). Expansion continued with the establishment of College of Engineering & Management Punnapra in 2008 (Alappuzha district) and College of Engineering Muttathara in 2016 (Thiruvananthapuram district). All engineering colleges under CAPE are affiliated with APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU). As per G.O (MS) No.488/2013/H & FWD dated 17-12-2013, the Government of Kerala took over Cochin Medical College, Kochi, bringing it under the Directorate of Medical Education (DME).
